Rooted in the Highlands
of Burundi
Created in 1971, the Office du Thé du Burundi produces tea through the support of smallholder growers, the management of the industrial plantations, the processing of green leaf and the commercialisation of made tea.
Our mandate is to revitalise the tea sector, and to coordinate, regulate and monitor every link in the chain — from nursery to export.

A public institution, one management committee.
The Office du Thé du Burundi is a public enterprise created in 1971. It supports smallholder families, operates five highland tea complexes, processes green leaf and markets made tea domestically and for export.
The management committee — the Director General together with the industrial, administrative, commercial and administrative & financial directors — steers all of these activities. Portraits of the committee are presented on the home page.
